Net Impact Conference 2007
I just returned from the Net Impact annual conference. For those who aren't familiar already, Net Impact started 15 years ago as a group of MBAs forming "Students for Responsible Business" - but has since grown to over 10,000 students and professionals "changing the world through the power of business."
Here in Boston, I'm a chapter leader, so I figured it was time to shell out the big bucks for the annual conference. I was so glad that I did.
Amazingly, there were 1,700 conference attendees, and by the end of 24 hours I felt like I had met each and every one of them! It was such a high-energy event, with great speakers and panels, and loads of interesting attendees. And it was inspiring to realize that everyone there isn't just developing their careers - they are developing alternative careers in areas that matter to them, and that they believe will matter to the world.
Usually, a 3-day conference would leave me tired, but in this case it's left me energized because it reminded me of what I've set out to do through my work.
For plenty of coverage of the conference, the Owen Bloggers (from the conference host, the Owen School of Management) did a fantastic job. Check them out here: http://www.owenbloggers.com/features/
I'll also be updating the blog with bit & pieces of my own conference-based musings, so stay tuned...
